This award winning tour offers a unique, multi-eco experience. Kayak among the many small islands that make up St. Thomas' Mangrove Lagoon, including the pristine Cas Cay. This wildlife sanctuary and marine reserve is world famous for its winding, shallow waterways, beautiful mangrove trees with nesting birds, and colorful marine life. Hike and explore Cas Cay! Try your luck with a hermit crab race in a forest with an unusual community of thousands of hermit crabs. An eight minute walk along a level sandy, coral and shell rubble trail leads you to a dramatic area of cliffs with breathtaking views, tidal pools and a rare geologic blowhole. Relax and enjoy the sounds of the splashing water and the beautiful rock and cliff formations. Your guide will show you many new and interesting creatures and unforgettable places. After an eight minute hike back to the kayaks, you will don your mask, snorkel and life jacket and snorkel with colorful fish and sting rays.

We were in St Thomas for a day (cruise ship). This was our first time using kayaks and with a quick overview we were out on the water in a few minutes. Our tour guide, Devon, was very knowledgeable and talked about the local plants and animals. Would highly recommend this tour!

The guys at VIE were very accommodating and friendly. Kyrell offered me plenty of water and Devlin, aka “Swish”, was a great guide and had plenty to show and tell along the way. Keithlyn and Demoy were also very helpful with getting all of us situated with lifejackets, snorkel gear, and kayaks. They made a great team and I would definitely book another excursion with them the next time we visit St Thomas. Swish was even kind enough to give me a cool sand dollar he found along the way during our walk/hike and pointed out that the island behind me was that of Jeffrey Epstein’s!

Awesome adventure. I had never been kayaking before and was a little anxious. Troy our guide was fabulous he made it seem so simple. He explained what we would be doing and seeing throughout our tour. Troy was very personable and very professional. If I come back to St Thomas I will be back to Virgin Island EcoTours to do it again. Thanks Troy for making our trip a great one.

We had a great time on the Cas-Kay Hike and Snorkel Adventure with tourguide Pat. He was fun and had a great attitude. He shared a lot of great information. They waited for us as we had an issue with the taxi - PRO TIP: take a private taxi from the cruise port, not one of the "gypsy taxis" ( that's what they call them). You have to have to insist on a private taxi, because in the bustle of the cruise ship crowd at the taxi stand they will put you on one of these open air, bus like taxis. And you will be late. So if you are doing this from a cruise, insist on a private taxi and then prepare to have a fun, great time with VI Ecotours, especially if Pat is your guide!!

One of the best tours we (my mom and I) had in St. Thomas! Kyrell was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and caring. He took the time to explain things and did not rush us so we could learn and explore the ecosystem of the island/area at a very relaxing pace. The view was spectacular! Highly recommend this tour for travelers of all ages!!!
Day Trip for Families with Teens

We are a family of 4 looking for adventure and hoping to do something off the beaten path. Soren was our guide. He was knowledgeable, patient, and engaging. We kayaked to Cas Cay, walked the foot path to the blowhole, and then snorkeled before kayaking back to the launching point. Although we did not see as many big fish as expected, Soren was able to help us identify a few fish that we might not have otherwise seen. My college aged sons enjoyed the adventure and found the information shared interesting. I highly recommend.

Eli was an excellent guide. We appreciated all of the local knowledge, stories and information about the ecosystem. Kayak trip was the perfect distance, and a good amount of hiking and snorkeling, Eli pointing out interesting things all along…. And all the hermit crabs!!! Snorkeling was easy, close to shore with lots to see. Much better value than the boat snorkeling trips. If you like to kayak this is a must trip. Wear water shoes or you won’t get to see everything.
Mighty Mangroves

Learning about the vital part the mangroves play in the preservation of the coral reefs and as a nursery for fish and birds was fascinating. I never knew there was an upside down jelly fish that eats algae and lives in the mangroves! We could hold it! Did you know purple clawed hermit crabs line up in an orderly fashion to up size their shell homes? Thank you Troy for all the interesting vegetation and sea life you showed us. It was a remarkable trip that was so much more than a wonderful snorkel, hike and kayak tour!

Elvin and Anslem were great tour guides. They were super knowledgeable about the area and the landscape. They were able to find lots of sea life, including starfish, urchins, crabs, and an upside jellyfish. We got to see one of the deadliest trees in the world and ate an edible plant in the mangroves. The snorkeling, unfortunately, wasn't as successful due to the currents, but they made the most of it.
The woman *Shawn" at the merchandise counter was the best. She ran the show! She was our favorite. Definitely worth it!

I traveled with Carnival Sun. I'm a solo traveler. I booked this trip through Viator, giving myself plenty of time to get there and return to the ship on time. The taxi dispatch outside the port gate is very efficient and offers ride-share transportation.
The kayak part was amazing, with stunning views of the Cay. We paddled as a group. I was a little concerned because I am a senior, but I was fine. Great photo opps! Very, very beautiful!
The snorkeling was very enjoyable. We set out from the shore, and had plenty of time to explore. And, finally, I loved the hike, with Ronnie guiding us, offering so much information about the reserve.
This was really a Fun excursion. The equipment is good quality. The guides are great. St Thomas VI is an amazing destination. I would come back and highly recommend this tour. They pack plenty into three hours! Again, I highly recommend.

We had a great time kayaking out to Cas Cay and then hiked to the red rocks and blow hole. We checked out some tidepools on the way and found brittle star and sea urchin. Snorkeling required a longish swim to see a few fish and an octopus. The kayak back was tiring since we were tired from the swimming and earlier kayak trip against the current. All in all though it was a great time and the guides Ronnie and Jahmal were wonderful.

Especially enjoyed the hike and snorkeling around Cas Cay. Guide, Emma was very friendly and gave great info about the area as well as the flora and fauna.

Our tour guides for the adventure was Troy and Anselm. The adventure started with nicely equipped kayaks, however things were a little delayed when trying to get our group into the kayaks. Once we were in the kayaks we followed Troy to the mangrove area. We were a little concerned when Troy took off kayaking at a rapid rate considering the diversity of our group. When we did stop he gave us a great history of the mangroves and area. Anselm was in charge of taking pictures. Once kayaking again Anslem led this time but keeping the group together was an issue again. When we finally arrived at the hiking island we beaches the kayaks and found tons of hermit crabs and participated in a crab race ( fun little experience). Hiked about 1/4 mile while Troy was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the area and history. We took pictures at a rocky (slightly dangerous- but they took care to keep us safe) blow hole wonderful area. We hiked back and then snorkeled. Anslem led the snorkeling experience and we would say he needs to brush up on keeping the group together and offering more guidance during the snorkel experience. Our kayaking back was good. Overall this is rated strenuous and I would agree. You must be abele to kayak efficiently and snorkel comfortably. We had a great time and would recommend to others in future. Thank you.
