Half Day Sail and Snorkel with the Turtles

Snorkel and Sail with the USCG Licensed Crew aboard the Sailing Yacht "FURY", a beautifully restored Morgan 46' Ketch. We actually "SAIL" out to the refuge and encounter the Green Sea Turtles in their natural Habitat. The reef is home to many species of tropical fish, octopus, stingrays and an assortment of corals. The experienced crew will guide and entertain you while keeping you safe in and out of the water.
The Captain and crew will point out significant historical sites as the Yacht exits the Harbor, the sails will be raised and the guests will experience Real Sailing out to Buck Island. (about 40 min.). Upon arrival, guests will be outfitted with all the gear needed to enjoy this experience. Fury also provides Flotation devices to those individuals who are less comfortable in the water. Rum drinks, beer, soda, bottled water, snacks and FUEL are all included with this trip.
This tour is available for Private groups of 25 or less, as well as individuals and small groups.

What To Expect

FURY and her US Coast Guard Licensed Crew Sails out of the Historic Charlotte Amalie Harbor, passing by the ruins of an old fort and customs house and into the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean. We continue to sail to the National Marine Wildlife Sanctuary at Buck Island aboard a meticulously clean and restored sailing Yacht. We arrive at Turtles Cove and provide guests with professional snorkel gear and a short lesson and orientation about the bay. Snorkel in clear calm waters with the Green Sea Turtles and a variety of marine wildlife including octopus, tropical fish, stingrays and a beautiful coral reef. Alcoholic Beverages, soft drinks, snacks and a fresh water shower are all included. Unlike other tours, Fuel and Crew are also included in the Price. No $$ Surprises at the end of your trip.

This was definitely the best day of our trip! Mike and Nikki were professional and safe while being fun and humorous. Loved being under sail, loved seeing the turtles. While I was unable to snorkel, the others said they saw creatures they had never seen before. Recommend wholeheartedly…sign up now!

I wanted something different from the traditional catamaran snorkel trip. This sailboat was awesome! Capt Mike and his assistant (forgot her name but she worked crazy fast and efficiently!) Were great hosts. Lots of fun!

This was by far the best excursion that we booked on our cruise. The captain and Nicky kept everyone laughing and were very accommodating. Beautiful sail boat and we say plenty of turtles, sting rays and a number of other fish. I highly recommend this trip.

We had the greatest time on this trip! The actual sailing part was truly wonderful and so much better than being on a catamaran with 100+ people. Captain Mike knew so much interesting island history and answered any questions we all had with lots of detail. Nikki is a MACHINE. I’ll include a picture of what my daughter wrote about her in her journal

Captain Mike and Nikki were amazing!! They led us to puffer fish, stingrays, turtles, triggerfish, and 3 foot barracuda that always parks under his sailboat! I have never in 30 years of snorkeling seen so many tropical species. The best was the turtle swimming to surface 28 inches from me and eyeing me during its breaths for at least 30 seconds! A real treat I will never forget! The crew was informative and entertaining all day long! 5 stars!
The Highlight of Our Cruise

This excursion was the highlight of our 11-day Caribbean cruise! Captain Mike and Nikki are skilled at sailing, snorkeling, and safety. My husband and I had a really great time and felt fortunate that they took us out when we were the ONLY ones (who showed up), especially since they had 17 for the morning excursion. They were patient and perfect hosts. The sailboat is beautiful and very clean.

Great time!!! We saw 3 turtles, sting ray and a lot of pretty fish. Snorkel time was perfect, calm waters, and a beautiful ride.

Awesome sail experience! Our snorkel spot yielded sting rays, turtles, barracuda and loads of colorful fish. We loved the boat and friendly crew. A great time was had by all!

Excellent sailing experience. I hate motor sailing to snorkel spots and this was a all sails open sail to snorkel to see the turtles! I loved it. Honestly, I've snorkeled with turtles other places and seen more, but if you haven't you are pretty much guaranteed to see some as the cove is where they feed. Not a ton of fish the day I went but beautiful, clear water. Nicki, the first mate, kept the rum punch coming and the captain was great too! Very enjoyable. Put your sunscreen on before you get on the boat! Be ready for the shirt and hat sales at the end. It was a very good time!

I was so disappointed that the conditions on all the other beaches were too poor to snorkel with turtles; booking this tour saved my trip!! It was a very good day. Half day excursion was easy to fit in to my plans. The crew are all awesome and very knowledgeable.
